Yes, I found that even just changing it in a playlist changed it elsewhere as well- I had thought I'd have to go to the song list and anywhere else it had been copied to, but apparently it went directly to the original source and changed it everywhere it had been copied.

I just went into my song list and tried this and it works fine. I changed a song title a bit and then went into Get Info and after activating the Details button I went to the song title and checked it to make sure the actual meta data for song title had changed and it did. So yes, if you want to rename a song then you can do it this way, easy and quick. I did try this for artist and album and it doesn’t seem to work for that. There was no rename on the context menu- so looked around quite a bit- with no luck. I'll have to check it again to see exactly where I was- the navigation and all the treeviews are quite a pin IMHO. Are you saying this worked in iTunes 12 or are you talking about renaming an album in Windows? Perhaps, the next time I’ll try it again after a couple other steps. Overall, I like iTunes 12, but there are a few fetures I wish acted the same as in 11. I admit I am stumped. I have an album that imported from a CD with the wrong title. I have not figured out how to edit that. I get into the album and bring up the context menu and select get info. I say yes to editing multiple items. I’ve tried clicking on details, but the title of the album is a static box that doesn’t allow editing. Anyone know how to do this?
