I have noticed that if the messages are very short, they send automatically.

Neal, I have sort of the opposite issue.

Once only once, I was in a voice message conversation with someone and as soon
as I lowered the phone my messages were sent. Otherwise, I do have to tap the
send button. I don't know what I did that one time I am not doing all the time
to cause messages to send automatically.

Thanks!

Eric

Hmmm, I wonder where you found it. In settings, messages, I can turn off raise
to listen, but that is not what I want. I want to rais to listen and then be
able to play back the message to see if I like it.

Ah, But I think I just discovered something. If I press compose, Before I enter
a contact, I can raise the phone to my ear to record a message and then remove
the phone and it stops recording I can then decide to whom I wish to send it.
That works.

There's a name to that facility, and when I knew what it was, and found it, I
turned it off.

Perhaps others do not find this, but here is what I just discovered.

If I hold down the record button to record a text message and then release the
button, I then have a send button. That way, I can hear the audio before I send
it. However, if I raise the phone to my ear and hear the tone, I begin
speaking. When I take it away from my ear, I hear the tone, but there is no
send button because it has been automatically sent. Is there a way around this?
