Or if the thread doesn't interest you, it's a simple flick down and double tap to get rid of it. I think my record is 150 messages in a thread but by golly, they all got deleted! <Grin> Just like magic! Poof and their gone! LOL!

That's about how I do it. And finding delete on a thred clears a lotof
messages at once if you're eager to clear the decks.

On my iPad Air, as an example, my iPad is in a holder so that it looks like
a laptop screen meaning it's in landscape mode. There are 2 windows. The
left pain shows a list of email messages. Conversations are nested together
and voice over tells you how many messages are in the thread. To open a
thread, just double tap the screan. Now let's say there are 3 messages in
the thread, In the right pain, those 3 messages are desplayed but not
opened. The newest is on top and the oldest on the bottom. That's the one
that's highlighted. Double tapping it opens the message. Voiceover also
announces the date and time of the message with out you having to open the
message. I know that this may be out of the actual order because I'm on my
windows 7 laptop at the moment. Never the less, it should give you a sense
of how it works. Also, if you open up a movie, the screen transforms into a
full picture so, in reality, it isn't hard to understand.

I don't have an iPad, but maybe navigating by containers would help. You
can add containers to your roter if it isn't already there and then you
can use the roter to select containers and flick up or down to navigate
between containers. I'm not sure it'll help, but maybe it's worth
looking into while you're waiting for someone with an iPad to respond.

How do people deal with the iPad split screen using VoiceOver? For
example, when I try to use an iPad and double-tap on an email message, my
list of messages is still there. It takes me a while to find the actual
message. On my iPhone, I can just double-tap on a message from the Inbox
and it’s there instead of the list of messages.
