I don't have any trouble using iTunes to update my iPhone. I prefer iTunes when doing a major upgrade. I grab an encrypted backup before I start. iTunes gives me more feedback then you get in an over the air update. Updating through iTunes also requires a lot less free space on your iPhone, which could save you quite a bit of time freeing up space before you start.

That being said, for dot releases, which are much smaller, I will use either iTunes or do an over the air update. For 8.1.1 and 8.1.2, I just used an over the air update. I used iTunes for IOS 8.0 and all of the releases between 8.0 and 8.1.1.

definitely using the software update feature on the iPhone, as I can

    Hi all,
I was wondering has anyone updated their phone to ios 8.12 and if
so, did you update through iTunes or on your device itself?
I think for me it's easier to update through my device it self what
    do you all think?
