Here's an instance in which a podcast may be helpful. I would check sites such as
www.applevis.com to see if there is a podcast that may answer some of your concerns. Also, if you, personally, think that you would enjoy the game, get it for yourself and give it a try. From everything I have heard so far, the game is well worth the price.
