Apparently the producer is offshore and the shipping charge is a full $10, even for this lightweight device. I made my purchase through PayPal and, as far as I could tell, this shipping charge is not identified prior to purchase. I certainly could have missed it, but thought I was reviewing the pages carefully. In the purchase process, there is an unidentified 10 Percent charge, which is $3.00, which is added to the purchase price. It shows up as X3% on the order page. In the end, the total of $13.00 in additional charges might not have stopped my purchase, but I would have wanted to know beforehand .
