To add to what Joanne said, I find it easiest to use my iphone for sending iTunes credit to somebody. Go to the App Store app, double tap on the "Featured" tab at the bottom left of the screen, then if Voiceover is on "Featured", swipe left 3 times and you are on "Send Gift". Double tap on this and follow the prompts, it's pretty straight forward.
