I was having the same issue with iTunes12. When you want to leave the store, tab to the radio buttons where you choose music, apps, movies, etc. and check the one you want, then tab on to the second set of radio buttons after the "More" button. Check what you want here (the store button will be currently selected). You should then see the additional options for whatever item you chose. There may be another way, but this is all I've figured out. If you can't find the radio buttons, press the menu option like Control-1 for music. I haven't figured out if that's necessary- sometimes it seems to help, but still stumbling around in this version.
