keeping it level though is where I can fall down, hence I put on the "Tilt
Guidance" most of the time at the moment, though I hope not to have to do
this too much longer.

One method I picked up from a post a long time ago when I began to use
Prizmo was to estimate the center of the printed page whatever the size was.
I started with the regular 8 X 11.5 paper and folded it in half both
lengthwise and widthwise to get a center point. The folds on the paper gave
me a guide to place the camera down in alignment and to raise the camera up
straight. I have been using OCR on the phone for a while now and I just
estimate with my hands to find the center point. With the KNFB Reader, I
have only missed on occasion and needed to rescan an item again. Each of the
object recognition apps have their strengths and weaknesses, but it's sure
nice to have choices. Happy scanning and I hope my tip may help you and
others get a better scan on the first shot.

page. I managed to scan a few straightforward A4's then a couple of
packages. One was over the counter medication which read well and the
other was a box of stuffing mixture which I did manage, but not on the
first try. I'll never be the world's greatest at scanning, but this sure
has beaten everything else I've ever tried with the IPhone and I'm well
pleased.

After reading all of the posts, I went and checked to see if batch mode
was on, but couldn't tell at first. I did see "process pages or something
like that, so I guess I was. This was late last night, so I haven't had a
chance to test the app out again. However, I was able to import a PDF file
and have it read to me. That was pretty amazing in itself. Oh by the way,
I'm using an iPhone6 with iOS 8.1. Thanks all for pointing out the batch
mode. I'm not sure if I'll use it to scan the manual or not. I'm still
getting use to using the app.

added to your file but is not read. Go to the batch mode button and

I am using the KNFB Reader app to scan a manual I just got today after
the installation of my new dishwasher. However, I find it a bit odd or
strange in getting KNFB Reader to OCR the text after the picture is
taken. Here are the steps I take:
1: I approximate the center of the page with the iPhone's camera.
2. I use the "field of view report" to make sure that all 4 corners are
visible and the orientation is correct.
3. I tap on the "take picture" button. The camera of the KNFB Reader
does flash because I can see the light from the flash go off.
4. After step 3, the app does not open the next page for reading the OCR
text from what had just been scanned.
I have closed out all apps in the app chooser including the KNFB Reader
app. When I reopen it, I receive the same behavior with no text read
after the picture has been taken. Do I need to perform a hard reset in
order to get the app to function properly? Please advise as I would like
to scan this with the KNFB Reader app.
