behind a reverse proxy anyways, nginx, apache et
al support ipv6

IPv6 to us is a little more than that. It also includes use of IPSec for
security policies that leverage trust webs e.g., the kind WebID now
facilitates.
If you look at our history (even pre Virtuoso) we've always offered very
sophisticated security as a USP. It just so happens that the InterWeb is
now providing use with a vehicle for re implementing some of these old
concepts via de facto or actual industry standards.
Security sophistication is why we have functioning ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET,
OLE-DB businesses alongside our relatively "new kid on the block" known
as Virtuoso :-)
