My observation is, that maybe I reacted (regarding the ECHO CANCELATION) a bit too strong. Around 50 different numbers were called and echoing was notable only when communicating with someone, directly connected to ISDN switch (SIEMENS EWSD V11), using DECT wireless phone. In all other cases, no echoing was noticeable.

implemented within a I'd say 2 months time frame. I have found myself several times in a very unpleasant situation, where some software required a kernel 2.6.11, and the other part, 2.6.8. What can be done in that situation? Not much I'm afraid.

You ask somebody to fix the problem. with the 2.6.8 driver, assuming
nobody has done it yet.

The point is that incremental changes are easy, but if you wait too long
the work piles up.
