Dear VISDN mailing, Hello. My name is Joao Correia. I've been working with Asterisk for some time, with chan_capi.
Recently I wanted to install a asterisk on a Point-to-Point ISDN line . I tried mISDN , very buggy, no sound after anwser, weird errors, it said it was experimental. I tried Zaptel with no sucess either. For what I realized Asterisk is very "American" oriented and is based on American standards. This is why ISDN support on Asterisk isn't great. I got no problems with Point-to-Multipoint with CAPI or mISDN. For what I realize VISDN is European ! thats great. I've read in TODO that: lapd: ----- - Implement point-to-point and static TEIs so I guess point-to-point isn't yet working, but when it is , it will be fully compliant with European standards. right ? When do you expect to implement this ? Keep up the great work !
