anyway, if I have both: (add-hook 'vm-presentation-mode-hook 'turn-on-visual-line-mode)(setq vm-fill-paragraphs-containing-long-lines 'window-width) things work fantastically well. one of the two seems not enough. and it seems that the documentation (vm.info file) still reflects the old way of doing this, as you probably know. thanks!! thanks also for fixing the jumping cursor problem. admittedly I haven't seen it in a while, but it used to drive me crazy last year... :-) cheers, E
