DFSMS/VM requires ISPF only if you will be using the ISMF panels. DirMaint is required only for minidisk management, specifically minidisk moves. RMS does not require either ISPF nor DirMaint. A tape manager product is desirable since RMS is not a tape manager but an interface between a tape management product and the ATL, but a manager is not required.
