In the server, yes, but it's not needed for the apps.  There are some
concerns, however, if one of the universes collapses while holding the
file locks, but we've been unable and unwilling to test this in the lab.

After all, one does not collapse a universe without a good business
reason, as getting the darned thing restarted tends to disrupts the
containment field that hold the singularity. The result is debris
everywhere; a real mess.  The building maintenence people get upset.
Not Good.

[As an aside, planning for the collapse of the universe is a customer
responsibility.  IBM assumes no responsibility in this area.  Please
ensure your DR plans include this scenario.]
