You can establish Mirror/Copy (PPRC) connections between DS8100s using the DS8100 management console and System Automation for Linux on zSeries can detect DASD failures and perform a "hyperswap" operation. However, that's not the same as GDPS. GDPS is a z/OS solution that provides more than a DASD failover mechanism - it can failover an entire CEC. Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
