Hello,

What is required to load zVM 5.1 from a DVD? The documentation said to put
the DVD into the DVD drive on the HMC. Select the partition and click load.
The load screen requests an address for the device. The HMC sees the DVD
drive as the G drive. The field for the load address does not accept "G".
I think it requires an entry in the IOCP, but I don't where to look for what
that entry should be within the IOCP... (I checked the "I/O Configuration
Program User's Guide".) (The processor I am installing this on is a z890
with no existing operating system.)

Please help.

Thank you.

Your previous question was about the drive; it comes with the HMC.

The z/VM DVD is one of the orderable media types (3480, 3590, CD, or DVD).
If you need the specific feature codes for some reason, you can find them
in the announcement letter, found on the VM web site.
