DIRMAP was part of IPF, later CUF, chargeable extras, DISKMAP was added later, free of charge, but IMHO far less good. For example: DISKMAP flags all fullpack minidisks (lile MAINT 123) as overlaps,, DIRMAP somehow ignores them and only yellls for real overlaps.
Now CUF is included in z/VM, so DIRMAP is available to everyone and the world should simply forget DISKMAP.
