Back to reality,
On your VM/VSE LPAR configure 2 GB as Expanded Storage and read up on Mini Disk Cache (MDC).

On your VM/LINUX LPAR configure 2 GB as expanded and let VM page to expanded. Linux guests run much better when they do not have to use the swap.

The VM system on our z800 lives with only 2G.

Putting things in context: my son and daughter each have 1G on their
respective PCs.
