Hi Alan,

Thanks for your response.

I did the 'convxlat 00371252' and yes, the TCPXLBIN file matches the one on
TCPMAINT's 592 disk.

Let's take the case of 1 character , a circumflex (â)

In the 00371252 TCPXLATE file , at the bottom at x'42' the ASCII is x'E2' which
is correct , no ?
In the CANADIAN TCPXLATE file , at the same position the ASCII is x'83'

Doing the PPS FRENCH FILE A (TCPXLBIN CANADIAN it prints as â
Doing the PPS FRENCH FILE A (TCPXLBIN 00371252 it prints as an upper gamma Γ
(according to my Greek colleague)

I went to your site and I printed out the table on the same printer and it
prints out OK.

I can supply more examples if you like.

Mike

If you run 'convxlat 00371252' and compare the resulting TCPXLBIN file to
the one we ship, they should be identical.

From my visual comparison, CANADIAN is very similar to 00370850, which
translates to OS/2 (850). But without knowing the EBCDIC hex values of
the characters you are looking at and what character is being printed on
the printer, I can't advise you.

I've looked in the 3174 Character Set Reference and confirmed that the
"Canadian Bilingual" code page is 37. I've also visually compared the two
code pages to ensure the glyphs are the same. You can see code page 37
for yourself at http://www.vm.ibm.com/devpages/altmarka/codepage.html.

I use the table below for reference, FTPing or LPRing it from VM to see
how it appears. But don't trust a copy/paste to your 3270 as the e-mail
systems have likely altered it. I used to have a Q&D exec to generate it,
but I can't find it now.
