Today we use DDR backup to backup our production vse disk to tape. this takes about an hour,
we are looking for ways to decrease our backup window. process today as follows, force each vse (2) offline and use DDR backup to copy packs to tape. bring all vse's back online. Could I copy the volumes from my Production VSE to another set of DISK not defined to my Producton VSE and the bring my Production vse back online? I would then use ddr to make tape backups of the copied disk. ( this is just like a manual FlashCopy) Question: Can this be done, Question: today It takes about an hour, could I reduce this window manually to about 10 mins (just the copy to get the production vse back online).
