In response to my email to Gerhard Zierl to tell him
that we definitely use VSE/VSAM for VM, he asked
for a list of uses. One I mentioned was IBM's own
NETVIEW for VM, in addition to other vendors' products,
and our own local applications.
I commented that I found it strange that IBM would
discontinue marketing a prerequisite.
His reply included:
> According to the information I have the NetView/VM 2.3
> product has been withdrawn from marketing at least a year ago.
Argh.... As a co-worker commented to me, IBM seems to be trying
to get us off VM even faster than the local anti-mainframe
lobby.
