Have you done a SET RUN ON. Could be hanging a VM READ when you disconnect and
stalling your machine.

Subject: NEW to Z/VM WAKEUP

Hello, I am still very new to Z/VM so I sure this is a elementary
question. We are running version z/VM 5.1. I have been working on
running the SFPURGER utility at a specific time using the WAKEUP
command. In doing so I am running this from my machine as opposed to a
utility machine that I have seen talked about in the manuals. After
starting the WAKEUP using WAKEUP +0( FILE command I then disconnect
my machine and wait for the next event in the WAKEUP TIMES file to
happen. When the time passes nothing happens until I reconnect my
userid. I have a copy of the WAKEUP EXEC called wakeup exec on my 191
drive. I got it straight from the sample on page 1287 of the CMS
Commands and Utilities Reference. It seems to be working because it
tells me what is next on the stack at what time and the manual says it
will work from a disconnected machine. I believe I am missing something
somewhere. Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted. Thanks!
