Have the users PPS using the RSCS printer name. Example: A printer is defined to RSCS as PRT300. The user can print to it using 'PPS filename filetype (P PRT300'.
This way, the IP address is maintained in RSCS. -----Original Message----- From: VM/ESA and z/VM Discussions [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of william JANULIN Sent: January 17, 2006 10:32 To: [email protected] Subject: PPS EXEC question To list: I am running into a situation where I have users printing to RSCS printers specifying wrong IP addresses for the printer they are trying to print to. This causes a socket error and RSCS releases the link. I then have to stop the link, find the RDR file that is causing the problem and then purging it. Is there a way to set up a PPS EXEC for specific printers with a hard coded IP address so I do not have to hope that the end users enter the correct IP address when the print with PPS? Has anyone ever encountered this situation? Thks, Bill J. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
