No worries yet - go back to CMS prompt and do an IPL CMS (enter: CP IPL CMS
).   Then enter:  VMFSETUP ZVM CP     Check to see what it has to say (if
anything) about the set up of the disks.   If it works okay, then go back
into VMFINFO ZVM CP

It could be you had (or have) some disk/directory accessed where VMSES
expects to have an open file mode.
