Now that this thread is running down, I was hoping to
hear your motivation for asking these questions.
If it was just you being responsible with regard to
Perl documentation, wanting to make sure that there
was a document that captured these differences, perhaps
spurring us VMS perlers to produce such a document, then
I certainly appreciate it.
I'm curious though, are you perhaps looking into or
advising someone as to their use of perl on OpenVMS in
a project that might involve many of the features that
you inquired about? I hope so! A lot of people have
worked very hard (not me!) to provide a perl that works
pretty close to what you expect on Unix. With good
perls on Windows, Unix and VMS, we can really look
forward to cross-platform development.
