Last week I built Perl 5.6.0 on an Alpha running 7.2. I had a number of
problems with the build/test I am hoping someone on this list might know about:

[1] After running configure.com I was told to use mmk. This worked OK for the
main Perl but failed in the extensions with:

    Writing descrip.mms for re
%MMK-F-SDCMIX, signel/double-colon dependency mix found for target
        RE_EXEC.OBJ
%MMK-F-ERRUPD, error status %X1c148064 occurred when updating target DYNEXT

I could not see the problem in the descrip.mms file but using mms instead
    of mmk appeared to work.

[2] I had the following test failures:
    glob_basic - failed on test 3
vmsish - failed on test 7
warnings - failed on test 216

I have not had a chance to investigate these yet - does anyone know why
these tests fail? and if there is a fix.

[3] My purpose for installing Perl was to get the Perl DBI and DBD::ODBC
modules working. I have failed to get DBI installed with errors in running
examp.t. Has anyone got DBI and DBD::ODBC installed and working?

Thanks

Martin
