RA60's! I remember those, I think they were the last disk drives with removable packs ever built (unless, of course, there are some classified units...) but then again, maybe IBM built some. They were used by a MAJOR NYC bank as library units for developers -- they could be taken off when the developer went home, and they could be moved from a development system to a production system when a new version of software was released. As I recall, the max. seek time was only 120 msecs, which might compare favorably with an old 8in floppy... And now that you mention it, mounting them as MSCP-served devices sounds like a grand idea.
