I have a project for anyone interested. There's lots of VMS -> Unix conversion documents, but in the Perl core world we often have to go the other way. Translating Unix-centric programs to VMS. Most selfishly, MakeMaker.
I've been muddling along pretty well by reversing VMS-to-Unix howtos, but I'd love to see a real Unix-to-VMS howto. I'd suggest someone take an existing, well written VMS->Unix howto like this one: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/VMS-to-Linux-HOWTO.html and reverse it.
