We should probably mention these limits in the docs, but it's hard to
keep such things up to date.

This is remarkably good.  The vmsish.t failure is also present on Alpha and probably 
reflects a real bug in timezone conversions when doing stat().  The openpid.t failure 
is a mystery; can you run it in verbose mode:

$ @[.vms]test .exe "" -"v" [.io]openpid.t

In any case you have an excellent working Perl.  How do VAX folks
feel about switch to G_GFLOAT as the default?
