Just for interest: I have installed Apache 1.3 including MOD_PERL on VMS 7.3-2. Perl-version is the pre-build 5.6.1 as from the Net, added some (latest?) modules for database-access. MOD_PERL is said to be closely raleted to PERL 5.6.1 I tried to build the whole set of 5.6.1 (c 6.5) but for some reason, not yet examined deeply, it never succeeded completely - some tests were causing trouble. Before getting deeper into these issues, I would like to use a later version (5.8.x). But will that be usable with MOD_PERL as it is? If not, what to be aware of if building in 5.8 and using is under 5.6?
