Thanks, that would be great. I found this link regarding getting bzip2 to build on VMS http://antinode.info/dec/sw/bzip2.html >From a quick look it looks like the changes are all to do with file IO. The sub-set of the bzip2 source I use doesn't include any file IO, so fingers crossed. Paul
