Thanks for the help! I'm still having trouble exiting out of vmtk in order to
save my intermediate file. Pressing 'q' and/or 'e' does nothing & when I
actually close pypepad (and quit out of vmtk completely) nothing is saved.
So, my question is: Is there an easy an easy way to exit a script (sorry if
this is a stupid question, but I didn't see anything about this in the levelset
segmentation tutorial)?

Hi Anna,
this is a feature that has been requested a few times. I think it's high time
to implement it. I'll look into it shortly.
In the meantime, you can always start with
vmtklevelsetsegmentation -ifile input.vti -ofile intermediate_levelsets.vti
do something, exit, then resume from where you left on
vmtklevelsetsegmentation -ifile input.vti -levelsetsfile
intermediate_levelsets.vti -ofile intermediate_levelsets2.vti
Not 100% what you expect, probably, but it's something.
