Shouldn't be, I didn't have to do a xhost + to make it work for me. We
are both accessing the same box from a redhat linux box. He even
launched a vncviewer from his box to my vncserver socket and I typed my
passwd and it worked fine.

I would say it is a problem with the configuration. The funny thing is
that I have copied my configuration to his directory chown'd it all to
his username and ran vncserver with the same effect.
