What's the vncserver you're useing? M$Windows or unix based? > > Should I get a login prompt when I try to go to http://myip:7901? no > > I actually get the message 'rfb 003.003' which I have seen on > the posts > as what you should get when you telnet to the server on that port. why > am I getting it in http:// That's an indication for the viewer: rfb is spoken here. > > I went in and opened up ports 5800 and 5900 on my router and it still > doesn't work. I think you've altered port 5900 to 7901. You also need to move port 5800 to something you need: that's where the java viewer is served (that one also needs the 5900 port, for you the 7901 port). If it's for security (and it is since you're trough a firewall) only forward the port for RFB (5900 by default) and use the vncviewer app: You should not provide hackers the tools to hack you, and that's what you do if you also serve the java app at port 5800. > > The docs state that you CAN change the ports for both the vnc > server and > the java server, but I only can find 1 place to change it (in the > registry).. where do you change the java client (or it is defaultly > changed with the standard client?) > Any help would be appreciated. By default it is 100 below the rfb port. CBee _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
