I'm having a problem where sessions established with NT4 running the VNC service drop.
After the 'Please wait - Initial Screen Loading' screen comes up, the session gets
dropped.

The NT4 server's fully patched.

This machine was setup with WinVNC originally and it worked fine. I know its hard to
imagine, but we had to reinstall NT. (snicker) Its been reinstalled for months now,
and I've just recently had cause to put VNC on it again. Now it doesn't work. (I've
never had problems getting VNC to run, which is more than I can say about
PCAnywherebuthere)

In my attempts to fix this I have tried color depths of 256, 65535, and 24-bit, all at
1024x768. No variations worked.

I have also changed the port from the default to a few non-used ports. No luck there,
returned to the default.

If you're familiar with gotomypc.com, it also uses port 5800 for communication. When
running VNC on a machine with gotomypc.com's client installed, the connection drops
when the gotomypc.com client 'radios home'. These drops feel very similar to when I
was experiencing THAT problem. However, I ran ZoneAlarm to find out if any other apps
were asking for port 5800 or 5900... none were.

One thing that I've noticed is that if I choose the 'RAW' encoding, my connection gets
established, but will only last 10-20 seconds, then it drops.

(I've not gotten logging working yet)

TIA & have a gr8 weekend!
