Please forgive me if this is obvious to others, but it isn't to me. If I am on the road and want to use the Java viewer from a "strange" machine (e.g. a public web terminal or my mother's PC) to see my home machine, is there a URL I can go to which will cause the viewer to download to that machine (assuming it has Java enabled)?
I'd hopefully (a) not have to download the VNC server in that situation, as it's going to be a lot bigger than the Java viewer; (b) not need to "download a file" (vs "downloading a Java applet") because that might not be allowed on a public terminal. BTW, the "enhanced Java viewer for JDK 1.1" on the Contribs page is a broken link. Would that download straight into the browser, given that it's a .tar.gz file? (It seems that most of the links on that page to http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/contrib/<whatever> are broken.) J.
