I'm trying to run VNC on my home PC from my work PC. The home PC
has the address of 65.114.xxx.yyy. On my internal network it has
the address of 192.168.1.100. I can connect via a browser from
other PC's on my network with http://192.168.1.100:5800 When I try
to do that from my work PC (also behind a firewall and corporate
security) I get as far as being challenged for the password. When
I enter it, I get an error about "java.net.ConnectException:
Connection refused". I get the same error from my other PC's in
the network if I use http://65.114.xxx.yyy:5800

To me it looks like I don't have enough ports identified in my NAT
(on my home network) to allow the communications. What ports does
VNC use besides 5800?

FWIW, I'm running viewer version 3.3.3 R3 on a W2K machine. Behind
a Netopia R7100 DSL modem/router.

Any hints out there?

Thanks!
Norman
