Has anyone given thought to adding a plugin API to VNC? It seem like it
would help with projects like ESVNC where the chief features are new
encoding formats and functionality.
I would love to have a "Base" version of VNC that I could update small
portions of to meet my needs. The methaphore of adding a "file transfer"
plugin to TightVNC seems to make sense.
It also seems like it would reduce the fragmentation we all see between the
different clients. It seems to me it would make certain projects like adding
NT authentication much simpler to handle. Not only that, but clients could
take advantage of new features without recompiling or rereleasing.
