Same here (NT4 US SP6) but once somebody logs on and
logs off again, the viewer _does_ connect, so this bug
(not able to connect) only occurs the first time after
        booting.

Onderwerp: Cannot connect via VNC when no one logged on to PC

We have been running VNC on our NT/W2K servers and PCs for a couple
of years
with no problem. Just recently, we cannot connect via VNC to the W2K
servers
or PCs if the machine is not logged on. VNC says the authentication
failed.
If we then log on to the PC, then we can VNC to it fine. We do run
VNC as a
service which starts automatically and we were able to connect when
no one
was logged on until just recently (last month or two). We have not
changed
anything in the VNC configuration. I am wondering if Microsoft has
released
some security patch that we have installed that is now preventing us
from
being able to connect via VNC when no one is logged on. I also tried
TightVNC and the same thing happens with it.
