Hi,

I had the same problem with w2k and a kt7-raid motherboard, at start up 
or while using the pc (I never used vnc on this pc).

I upgraded all the bios, moved the memory around (I used only two 
slots), and it stopped doing that.

on another pc it was doing it when I installed another hard drive.

I needed to make sure that all the drive I used were connected before I 
installed the system. then I could remove some (drawers).

These problems definitely stopped once I installed linux on them.
