Pascal, I too have exactly the same problem as yours. I have a Windows-NT Workstation running the WinVNC Server and am trying to connect to it from WIndows-NT Server running VNCViewer ( Client side ). I have absolutely NO PROBLEM if I try to connect to this VNCServer from inside the firewall -- i.e. inside the company's network. I start getting the problem when I try to access this VNCServer remotely over a VPN. I first connect to my ISP over a DSL, then I start my Cisco VPN Client. At this point I am able to ping my VNCServer machine successfully. Now I start my VNCViewer, supply my hostname and my session password and that's it. A grey color screen with "Please wait Initial screen Loading" is displayed and after sometime the window gets killed.
Interesting point : If I connect to my company's network using the company's PPP dialup, the I DO NOT have this problem. Could anybody suggest a solution for it ? I believe it has something to do with Cisco's VPN Client settings that I am using. Please advise.
