Brief first impression of new Windows version of 3.3.4:

General:
- New icons...interesting. Not quite as obvious at a glance whether it's the server
or viewer icon in the task bar (green and red colors don't jump out as much as old
icons).

- I like the new program folder organisation. Seems like it would be easier to
understand from a new user perspective.

- I definitely like the added options on the Properties tab. It would be nice to
eventually see all options available under an Advanced screen.

Performance:
- When I tested on my local network, it did not find the best configuration
automatically. It kept me in ZRLE, but turned of 8-bit, so it determined I was
'fast', but not 'really fast'. The performance was definitely more sluggish at this
setting than using straight Hextile, which does extremely well on my network. The
hextile in the new version performed just as well as 3.3.3R9.

- Coming in over DSL (~700-900k) it correctly choose ZRLE and 8-bit and, yes, it was a
significant improvement over anything available in the previous version. In the few
tests I did, it performed a little better than Tight and about equal to Zvnc (using
encryption)

- Didn't test dial-up. I really don't have the need :)

One thing I wish would be included in the next release: port specification option on
the 'Add New Client' option. Ex: 192.168.254.100:10. Under some other vnc flavors,
this will add 10 to the std 5500 to allow connection to a proxy at 5510. This allows
great flexibility for getting through firewalls with reverse server connections.

Overall, my first impression is: I like!
