In XP you can hide Task Bar icons by getting the properties of the task
bar and clicking on VNC Icon and click always hide. This way it is not
visible to the students. They would have to snoop around to know that
it is running. Hope this helps.

If I am the teacher in the room, it it really different than looking
over
their shoulder? I'm not snooping on other staff members, just the
students
in my lab.

Your thought and oppinions would be GREAT.
