Hi Jennifer,

Yes, in the registry you can use AuthHosts under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3: take a look at the online doc
to understand how it works. Basically, you can tell VNC which hosts are
able to take remote control of a box....

You may use also a STRONG password: length is only 8 chars so use a lot
of "strange" characters like @$*="\....

Also, block ports 5800-6000 at your firewall.

Last, you can also take a look at Zebedee to create a secure tunnel
between the two ends ( the remote box and your VNC Viewer box ), use
private shared keys and activate two VNC keys in the registry:
AllowLoopBack and LoopBackOnly. From memory, it may be located under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3
This way, VNC will refuse to accept connections from another IP then
127.0.0.1 so you'll have to establish a secure tunnel between the two
machines before launching VNC Viewer through this tube...

HTH
