The way you do it is to ssh in to a box which is connected via a serial cable to a RealWeasel in the box you want to be able to get at the BIOS. Some server motherboards can already do what the weasel does - reflect the VGA console to the serial port during boot. In a normal machine room, you'd have all of these serial connections concentrated into something like a Cyclades Z-series: http://www.cyclades.com/products/z_series.php (they also do RealWeasel style cards, which I didn't know until now - the alterpath SM100). There, 64 machines completely under your control (an APC masterswitch is also useful, for hard power cycling) through one PCI slot in a machine you can SSH into from anywhere in the world. -- Illtud Daniel [EMAIL PROTECTED] Uwch Ddadansoddwr Systemau Senior Systems Analyst Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru National Library of Wales Yn siarad drosof fy hun, nid LlGC - Speaking personally, not for NLW _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
