This is more the the RealVNC developers than users, as I suspect that just about
every user desires some form of sound support.... 

Anyways, is there any effort or thought being put into sound support in some
future version of RealVNC?

That, along with sourcing existing Xserver than starting a new one, would be the
frosting on the VNC cake.
