To speed up the interactive results

The situation:

The operator on the application or server machine is jumping around quickly
checking various windows. For example he is switching to windows explorer to
check for a file name or checking his email screen that is running in the
background

. Under these conditions VNC can become quite back logged with sending all
those windows. Usually it is not necessary for the viewer to see all this
activity.

Let's have a way to tell VNC not to bother sending the screens that are back
logged under the current screen.

The best way I can think of is to use Ctrl+C or a mouse button to signal VNC
to stop sending old relatively stale window and just refresh the current
screen that is in the foreground.

What do you think?

How useful would it be?
How hard would it be to implement?
Is it a work around to have the viewer in listen mode? A problem is that
apparently there is no listen mode for the Mac with system 10 which is what
the viewer is running.

Any Ideas will be appreciated
