Sorry Guys I forgot to include this from the pdf...

Justin

PC-SOE has modified VNC to include many features missing from the original
build to include thefollowing features:
Windows NT authentication
o A password file is no longer used for authenticating users Password file
security issues
no longer exist
o See the Authentication section for more information
Event Auditing in to the Windows NT Event Log
o See the Auditing section for more information
Better notification of a remote control session
o In the original VNC product, a user is never notified if someone attempts to
remote control
a computer
o The notification that a computer is being remotely controlled has been moved
into the
VNC service. Previously, an administrator could disable the notification
program, and the
local user on the remote system would never know that remote control is taking
place.
o See the Notification section for more information
Due to the above changes, if you download a new VNC client version from the
web, you will not be able
to connect to the PC-SOE VNC service. If you are experiencing implementation
problems, or require new
features in VNC, please contact the PC-SOE group.

Subject: Notifying user of presents of connection...

Hi VNC List pplz,

I have been watching many of you discuss and debate the pro's and conns and ins
and outs of user's knowing when you are connected.

For those of you who eventhough about this, you might like to take a look at
the following... esp the developers of VNC!!!

I use, on some systems, a SOE version of VNC.
It puts on the target machine you are connecting to your username, so the
person at the PC knows who is controlling the system.

Also it used NT Authentication as well as normal Authentication (Nice if you
are on a NT or 2000 Domain), but also uses the norm Auth.

How cool would it be if RealVNC did this and supported kerbose, blah, blah, blah
Ok after a heavy night, what authentication scheme does unix use again?

The Total ZIP I have is 637 KB (652,609 bytes) large. <--- This includes the
.pdf's)

The install EXE is 288 KB (295,485 bytes) small

I don't mind emailing the files, but I don't want to get banned for emailing it
to the list.

If you would like it, email me directly and I'll drop you a mail, unless a
vnc-list admin can do it for me...

Justin
