I think your problem is two-fold. 1. You cannot connect to 127.0.0.1 because that's the localhost address and won't connect to a valid VNC server - you need another address IP address to connect to (i.e. one shown when holding the mouse over the VNCserver icon)
2. Most important! The USB interface is not supported for connecting to the network via the host machine. This is a great disappointment to me, too, because I have a M500 that I wanted to use PalmVNC on. If you get a serial lead you can do it; there are docs on the web about how to connect to your host machine using the serial lead. Sorry!
